Safety Summit

The intent of the Safety summit is to create awareness of existing resources, share new ideas and activate key stakeholders to promote safety and well being. The Safety summit is an opportunity for the grassroots organizations, businesses and stakeholders, in the community, to identify gaps and potential solutions.Our purpose is in building understanding between our communities and creating spaces where we can tackle safety, collectively.

History:
In spring of 2016, The Canadian Native Friendship Centre, Wicihitowin, Ogaden Somali and Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton shared safety concerns/issues faced and the impacts on their organizations in the 95 street and 118 avenue. (Alberta Avenue area) Many organizations from various cultures have experienced working collaboratively and would like a cross cultural dialogue to discuss safety issues.
